Elk Hunt - Frank Church Wilderness

Higher Ground’s backcountry hunting program is designed to reconnect veterans with the outdoors, teach practical skills, and foster lasting community through shared challenge.

Participants move through multiple training phases—including fitness, horsemanship, and marksmanship—before heading into Idaho’s remote Frank Church Wilderness. Guided by experienced outfitters and fellow veterans, they navigate rugged terrain, build confidence, and form powerful bonds in the process.
